Norman Lowell kicked out of Imperium Europa following lack-of-racism allegations

Imperium Europa leader Norman Lowell has been kicked out of the party following claims that he is not racist enough.

The far-right party decided to sack Lowell, who founded IE in 2000, after the Broadcasting Authority fined radio station RTK for refusing to air his right of reply to a statement made by host Andrew Azzopardi.

“The BA’s verdict means that Mr Lowell’s reply was deemed to be suitable for radio, and therefore clearly not racist enough for our standards. Imperium Europa takes allegations of lack of racism very seriously, and as a result, the party’s Administrative Council has voted to oust him as leader, as per Article 5e of our statute,” a party spokesman said.

The spokesman added this was not the first offence committed by Lowell. Last November, he was accused of ordering a pizza through Bolt Food and then failing to spit on the Indian courier, as per party policy.

“He just yelled a racial slur at him, which is simply not sufficient enough for the leader of a neo-fascist party,” he said, adding that the pizza was a “disgustingly diverse” quattro formaggi and not a pizza bianca (white pizza), also as per party policy.

“And a few weeks before that, he was spotted drinking a black, yes a black coffee, outside a pastizzeria in Mgarr, while humming to Africa by Toto.”

The party will now begin the search for a new leader ahead of the European Parliament elections in June. The spokesman did not rule out choosing a leader from outside the party.

“There are several MPs from both PN and Labour who would make ideal candidates,” he said.
