Quarantine-breaking Frenchman thinking of going for stroll in the rain

The Frenchman who was fined €9,000 for breaking quarantine last week is thinking of going for a stroll in the rain.

The man, who we are referring to as Pierre Escargot for legal reasons, was fined for three separate instances of quarantine breaking.

“Sliema is so beautiful in the rain, just like Paris. I think I will go for a leisurely morning promenade along the seafront,” Escargot told Bis-Serjetà over the phone.

“I don’t mind getting soaking wet. In fact, I will leave my umbrella at home so I can swing from streetlights while singing ‘Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien’. Then I will hug and kiss anyone I see because I am French and that is what we do.”

“If Pierre Escargot so much as puts a foot out his front door one more time, we’re going to tie him to his bed, and not in the way he usually enjoys,” a police officer at the St Julian’s depot said.
