Joseph Muscat has insisted that the quality of his lies is constantly improving under this government.
Muscat made the comment yesterday during a political event in Luqa.
“I measure success by the quality of lies I tell, and I’m only getting better,” Muscat told the crowd.
“For example, instead of telling you all the truth – that Malta can’t be a one-car-per-person country anymore and that we desperately need to reduce car use, which would lose me both votes and corporate donors – I feed you a load of bullshit about road widening, while impressing you with big numbers, half-truths and far-off hypotheticals that may or may not become reality,” he said to applause.
Muscat went on to promise that, if the quality of his lies ever decreased, he would resign on the spot.
“Or would I?” he said before vanishing in a puff of smoke and reappearing on holiday in Dubai.
