A woman has failed The Grid Sprint competition after forgetting to post about the event on Facebook and Instagram.
Liz Axiak, 25, from Swieqi, finished yesterday’s grueling six-kilometre obstacle course in Golden Bay with an impressive time of 37 minutes 23 seconds.
However, after crossing the finish line, she neglected to post any photos on social media within 15 minutes, which resulted in her being disqualified from the race.
“How could I have been so stupid?” said a tearful Axiak, who was competing in the race for the first time.
“I’d been training my index finger for months so that I could quickly unlock my phone and log into Facebook right after the race. But I guess the pressure got to me and all this crawling through mud and swinging from monkey bars was for nothing,” she added.
“A lot of people think The Grid is just a physical challenge. But you also need the mental strength to remember to post a selfie with at least 10 hashtags after you’ve finished it,” said the course’s founder Chris Bonnici.
