Office worker fired after ‘pulling a Kristy’

An office worker has been fired from his job after pulling a Kristy.

Pulling a Kristy is similar to pulling a sickie, but instead of phoning in to say you are ill, you claim that you aren’t being given enough work to do.

Mark Buhagiar, 29, was dismissed from his job as a systems analyst this morning, after attempting to use the excuse to justify his repeated absences.

“Unfortunately for Mark, pulling a Kristy only works in the public sector, and then only if you’re a member of parliament,” Buhagiar’s manager said.

“If he wants to get away with that sort of thing then I suggest he puts his name in the hat for the next general election.”

Speaking to Bis-Serjetà after his dismissal, Buhagiar claimed that he didn’t have his own office, and that his desk was located next to other people’s.

“They don’t trust me because I’m different to them, and not because I never show up in the first place,” he said.
