Bus cockroaches slam ‘terrible’ state of public transport

The cockroaches filmed on buses in recent days have criticised what they call the terrible state of the public transport system.

Brian and Kevin* Wirdiena (pictured on the left) are regular bus users, but say the inefficiency of the system is having an adverse effect on their quality of life.

“The buses are never on time, which means we have to wait on the pavement and risk getting stepped on,” said an exasperated Kevin, who works with Brian in the hospitality sector.

“Then during the evening rush hour it takes almost two hours for us to get back from our restaurant in Bugibba to our sewer in Imsida, leaving me very little time to spend with my 50 kids” said Brian.

“The average lifespan of a cockroach is one year, and I feel like I’m spending most of it on buses with a bunch of sweaty, smelly humans. I can survive a nuclear apocalypse but I’m not sure how much more of this I can take,” he continued.

“And there are too many foreign drivers who don’t speak Maltese!” yelled Kevin, the older of the two roaches.

“Shut up Kevin that’s racist,” said Brian.
